Pre-session

Seven things that turn a long session into a finished piece. Read this 48 hours before. Reread the night before.

  1. ( 01 )

    Sleep well

    The body handles needles best when rested.

  2. ( 02 )

    Eat well

    Two to three hours before. Protein and carbs. Sugar crashes and/or empty stomachs could end sessions early.

  3. ( 03 )

    Hydrate

    Drink plenty of water before. Coffee or energy drinks don't count.

  4. ( 04 )

    No alcohol 24h

    Thins the blood. Blurs the line work. Slows the healing.

  5. ( 05 )

    No blood thinners

    Try to skip aspirin, ibuprofen, and similar 24 hours before. Tylenol is fine.

  6. ( 06 )

    Wear comfort

    Loose, dark fabric you can roll, lift, or remove around the area. Especially for torso areas. Plan to be in the chair for 3 to 6 hours.

  7. ( 07 )

    Bring

    Photo ID, water, snacks, headphones, a charger, and one piece of entertainment, please ask beforehand if it's ok to bring a friend.
