Lalo Domínguez · Tattooer

Lalo Domínguez works out of Vancouver, BC. Being a multidisciplinary artist; a filmmaker, photographer, and illustrator, and of course a tattoo artist. In tattooing his main genres are, black and grey, sketch work, and woodcut.

His practice borrows from filmmaking before it borrows from tattooing. Framing, constructing, and pacing, specifically the same way the weight/style of a long shot carries.

Carefully selecting/designing the piece, framing it in the right place, and finally crafting it line by line, stroke by stroke until it's a complete frame on your body.

In short every piece is built one frame at a time... the same way a long take is.
